Welcome to Jason Martin’s official Website.
Jason Martin – better known as Atomic Bob – is one of modern music’s most revered guitarists, having made his distinctive mark across the board in virtually all genres. To say that he’s a living legend would be an understatement – having begun playing guitar in the mid ’90s with other local musicians, he is now lending his skills to the students all over the world from Iraq and Saudi Arabia to Turkey, Jamaica and all over the United States. Joining the band Cringe and Martyr’s Union after the recording of the 1998 haunting 3-song Atomic Bob demo, Jason helped carry his bands to greater heights of fame before departing in 2000. At this time, and with the encouragement of his guitar instructors from both high school and college, Jason initiated a dynamic solo career, presenting a varied and industrial style of hard rock that incorporated Jason’s love of metal, blues, and progressive rock like Ministry, Jimi Hendrix and Nirvana, along with other guitar greats like Steve Vai, Albert Lee, Joe Satriani, and Eric Johnson. In 2007, he began his long tenure writing, recording and learning as much as possible, recording at least four solo albums with hit’s like Follow the Revolution and Never Say Never, all the while continuing to master his craft with some of the industry’s most celebrated artists such as Kerry King, John 5, Chris Broderick, Andy Timmons, Sin Quirin and Shawn Drover. With a new Atomic Bob record scheduled to start recording in early 2016, along with his solo Greatest Hits package, Jason has taken the time to write guitar columns for Rock N Roll Industries Magazine, on his method and his attitude toward music, touching on his love for metal, his rigorous practice routine, and how he has survived the changes in the music industry.
